This year at Tri-Cities High School, we will be having a very active Latin program. It is my goal as a teacher to help your student become a well-rounded student of the Classics. The Classics is one of the most comprehensive fields of study in the Liberal Arts. In our class, we will not only be studying grammar using Latin for Americans, Book I as our main text, but also delving into the worlds of Classical mythology, Roman culture, Ancient history, Classical art, and Latin and Greek derivatives. I believe that not all students learn the same way or even have interest in the same subjects, but I do believe that given enough opportunity, students will come to love something about the Ancient World. I want to spark that academic, creative, and competitive flame that lives in each of my students and help them to become the best global citizens possible. If you would like to volunteer or help us at all during the school year, I encourage you to volunteer with Fulton County Schools. I look forward to an exciting year with all of my students!
Latin Learning Agreement
I ask every student to print out a Latin Learning Agreement, read it, sign it, and have it signed by their parents. This agreement expresses my expectations for the class, consequences for breaking rules, and how to get extra help. Please print out the following document and return it to school by Friday, August 28, 2015, for a homework grade.
